The Encouraging Word: 7/27/2006
Values
A financial firm reported some startling investments. A portrait sold for $135 million dollars. Another display, has a price tag of 1.5 million dollars - but it’s a blank, black canvas! One vintage of wine is selling for $9,000 per case – an interesting form of “liquid assets.”
What’s really valuable in life? More importantly, what’s valuable forever? Many investments have nothing to do with actual value. Many people regret trading their family for their career or their health for a habit. But what about those fully invested in temporary things but with nothing in eternity?
Jesus asked: “How do you benefit if you gain the whole world but lose your own soul in the process? Is anything worth more than your soul?” Matthew 16:26
I’d encourage you, my friend, to assess what’s really valuable in life and eternity and begin investing there today. When facing the grave, wouldn’t the wealthy gladly exchange everything they own for another day of life? Shakespeare put the words on King Richard’s lips as he faced death battling on foot: “A horse! A horse! My kingdom for a horse!” If you would like to receive Life that can never be lost, click here. I’d be glad to send you a free copy of my book to encourage you in this abundant life.
